The Mass Effect trilogy: Best games for 50,000 years!

April 21

**Just a warning, this post is FULL of SPOILERS about the Mass Effect trilogy so if you haven’t played the games and want to, DO NOT CONTINUE READING!**

I have done a few posts about video games already, about Bioshock, Dead Rising and others, and here is yet another post about video games. It may seem a bit odd that I’m pointing this out but for me it’s actually quite surprising! Before about 2010, I hadn’t played any video games since about 2001. When I was little I used to play Rayman, old Spyro games and Klonoa and sometimes I play them even now because of the sentimental feelings I have about them. But other than that, for about 9 years, I didn’t play any. I had a Playstation 2 I used to watch dvd’s and that was about it. I would never have considered myself as a gamer. But then I got into a relationship with a real geek and a gamer, got an xbox, he gave me games and told me that he knew I’d love them and I never ever believed him. Everytime though I said I’d give each game a few hours before stopping because I wouldn’t like it. Most of the time however, I got sucked in and finished every single one. Now, I have played so many (and some of them multiple times) that I think it would be a total lie to say I’m not a gamer!

“Would You Kindly Pass Me That Plasmid?” Or “Why Bioshock F**KING ROCKS!”

May 11

For this post I am going to let go of all my whinging and moaning and write a bit of a geeky post instead. Until recently I have never really been into playing games on the PC or on a console. I mean, as a child I played Rayman and Spyro, not to forget the AWESOME Tekken series. Also, I do have a bit of a soft spot for the Final Fantasy series and some sentimental feelings for Metal Gear Solid due to days spent with my brother watching him play when we were young. Other than that, since I have grown up, I haven’t really been interested in any games and the ones I have seen/played didn’t have an interesting enough story to gain my interest. That is until I came to live with my boyfriend.

Since I’ve been living with him I have played Dead Rising 2, Left 4 Dead and Resident Evil as you guys already know. We have almost finished Doom3 which scared the shit out of us and got far into Metro 2033 before getting bloody stuck. Apart from the first 2 I mentioned, I don’t actually play because I’m 1) shit and 2) too scared to play! Instead I like to sit next to my boyfriend and watch. I love it. I think it’s because when I was young, as I mentioned before, I would spend hours watching my brother play games on his PlayStation during the school holidays. Not only that, but when I was really young, my brother and I would play the original Doom on the PC or Rise Of The Triad (please, someone else tell me you know this game!!) or Blake Stone and I would sit next to him and be the official “door-opener”. I was in charge of pressing the space button and it was a very serious job indeed. Since then I have always enjoyed watching people play games, even more so if there is a great story.

Dead Rising 2, Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil….. basically anything with zombies!

December 1

Before I begin, I need to shout out in big letters that this article will be a SPOILER of “Dead Rising 2″, “Resident Evil: Code Veronica” and the “Left for Dead” series, so if you don’t want to know the story of the games or their endings then STOP READING NOW!!! I just want to make this clear now because you always get one fucking muppet who doesn’t want to know the endings and yet reads past the massive word SPOILER all the way to the end of the article before writing a sarcastic but blatantly thick comment, such as “Thanks for ruining the ending! You could have warned people that this was a spoiler!” Ultimately, they are the ones that look like idiots for ignoring the countless big, bold SPOILERS at the start and for carrying on reading when it’s blatantly fucking clear that the article is a detail of the plot. So just to make it clear in case any one of that nature ventures onto my blog, let this be warning to you that this is a SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!!

So let’s get started! First I’m going to talk about “Dead Rising 2″ which my boyfriend and I completed recently. We were pretty fucking desperate to kill some zombies and as I had played and enjoyed first game I thought it was a good place to start. Just like the first one, “Dead Rising 2″ really doesn’t take itself too seriously! There are some cheesy cut-scenes of Chuck (our protagonist) creating some crazy, gory, combo, zombie-killer weapon which is pretty funny to watch. Not only that, but you can also create some of the most gruesome combo weapons ever, enabling you to do disgusting things such as saw the zombies in half. Our favourite was the simple but efficient baseball bat with nails. It definitely gets the job done!

I am a girl who likes to write. Not particularly about anything informative, just about my life. I write about what I like, what I hate, and anything else I think of that I want to say. I like poetry and renaissance plays, but that is not just who I am. I would like to be a poet, but that does not mean that everything I write will be a poem. It is just a blog for me to take the habit to write, whether it’s poetry, fiction or just  plain bullshit. C’est moi, et c’est tout!
